Commercial and residential real estate in South Florida is currently experiencing a steady increase in value. These increases in value are annually being assessed by the local Property Appraiser, which may significantly impact ownership costs.
The 2015 Proposed Assessments have been determined in all Florida Jurisdictions. When proposed assessments exceed the Fair Market Value, we recommend early meetings with the local appraiser’s office, prior to the deadline to file a Petition to Appeal through the Value Adjustment Board (VAB). Should early negotiations fail to secure a reasonable result, a VAB appeal may be warranted.
